SUPERIOR TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP)– A Michigan constable’s deputy was shot Wednesday after reacting to a call in between feuding next-door neighbors, authorities stated.
The Washtenaw County deputy, who remained in stable condition, was shot soon after arriving at a house in Superior Town, 40 miles (643 kilometers) west of Detroit, stated spokesman Derrick Jackson.
On the other hand, the shooter was still inside the home. Jackson stated he didn’t know if anybody else was inside with him.
” It seems like there was a neighbor dispute,” Jackson stated. “Something took place and among the next-door neighbors took out a weapon and began firing.”
Deputies arrived and “they took shooting,” the representative said.
The event happened shortly after 2 p.m.
” We’re talking the next-door neighbors in this specific location to remain in their houses. We undoubtedly have a large scene. Lots of officers are here,” Jackson stated.
