WaPost Editorial Puts ‘Grandstanding’ GOP On Notice Over Coronavirus Relief

The Washington Post editorial board has taken Senate Republicans to task for stopping working to concur on a new coronavirus relief expense.

The paper’s board– in its op-ed published Wednesday— implicated GOP senators of instead “grandstanding,” denying truth and ideological point-scoring.

” Congress needs a contract, now,” the editorial advised.

” House Democrats passed a detailed coronavirus relief bill in May. Republicans waited,” the board recalled. “Now, with federal economic help expiring at month’s end, they can not concur among themselves on a plan, let alone forge a compromise with Democrats.”

” The GOP runs out time, and there is no sensible alternative to continuing enormous federal aid,” the op-ed continued, noting how “numerous” Republican senators appear to really prefer the expense.

It included: “Republicans should admit the apparent and get a bill passed, right away.”
